Bob Bunker is a retired Major General, US Army Corps of Engineers, having served as Commanding General of two separate Engineer Divisions, each with annual budgets in excess of $1 billion. He served an intervening assignment at Director of Management of the Army. He then spent seven years on international assignments as a Senior Vice Present for engineering-construction giant Brown & Root (now KBR). Then followed six years as Co-Owner of TGA Technologies, a small, entrepreneurial communications-electronics company. In 2004 he became Senior Vice President of Brookwood Program Management, a position which he presently retains on a part-time basis. In July 2008 he formed RM Bunker Associates, LLC and serves as President/Majority Owner of this Services Disabled Veteran Small Business. Bob has 50 years of Program, Project and Organizational Management experience in both government service and private industry serving both public and private sector clients.

In addition to serving as Brookwood’s primary contract developer, Bob has served as Program Director for the following key projects:
2004 - 2005: 2700 bed, $299 million Student Housing Village, Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo, CA. (includes 1900 structured parking spaces and 20,000 sf of commercial space)
2005 - Present: : 308 bed, $40 million Student Housing Facility, Spelman College, Atlanta, GA. (includes 100 underground parking spaces and 175-seat dining facility)
2006 - Present: 100,000sf, $50 Million addition to the Tuttle Federal Office Building, Atlanta, GA. (for General Services Administration)
Prior to joining Brookwood Group and his most recent position as Co-Owner and Chief Executive Officer of TGA Technologies, Inc., Mr. Bunker served in a variety of positions, including:
Senior Vice President, Brown & Root: Created, organized and managed for five years a unifying, multi-business Corporate Region in Asia from a Singapore base, with shared Profit/Loss responsibility on all projects in a Region including some 27 countries and territories. Integrated local and U.S. Brown & Root planning/design/construction capabilities with a series of joint venture relationships to accomplish projects ranging from development of off-shore oil and gas field recovery platforms to petrochemical and power plants. Following this assignment Mr. Bunker spent fourteen months in Hungary and the Balkans as Brown & Root’s Theater Director providing construction, services and logistics support to deployed U.S. and foreign Army and Air Force units in more than forty locations in Bosnia, Hungary and Croatia. Secret Clearance.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Retired as a Major General. Senior level experience was balanced between Corps of Engineers (Planning/Design/Construction support of projects for U.S. and foreign nations) and Department of the Army executive management functions. Served as Commanding General of two, $1+ Billion/year engineer divisions: South Atlantic Division (Southeastern U.S., Caribbean, Central/South America, Africa & Middle East); and Pacific Ocean Division (Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Johnston Atoll, Guam & Trust Territories). Oversaw projects ranging from expansion of Wilmington, NC harbor to major dam construction in Puerto Rico to construction of a major air base for the Emir of Bahrain. Also served as the Army’s Director of Management.
Earlier Army design and construction experience included command of the Corps’ Far East District in Korea (primarily design and construction of air base and cantonment facilities to includee dormitory and dining facilities), Mobile District (including planning, real estate procurement and initial design and environmental work on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway). Vietnam service included responsibility, through direct supervision of a Leo A. Daly design firm contract, for providing design and construction oversight for projects constructed by engineer troop units throughout the country.
Other experience includes: command of the 950 engineer soldiers of the 82nd Airborne Division and appointment as the Army’s Project Manager/Nuclear Safety Officer/Commander for the design, construction, Atomic Energy Commission approval and initial operation of a one-of-a-kind floating nuclear power plant. Board Member of The Civic League (Atlanta), Chair of its Research Committee, and Chair Elect of Transition House.
2004 – PRESENT: BROOKWOOD GROUP
1998-2003: Co-owner and Chief Executive Officer, TGA Technologies, Inc., a small and privately owned Communications-Electronics company in Norcross, GA.
1996-1997: Senior Vice President, Brown & Root and Theater Director for Brown & Root’s LOGCAP logistics and construction support contract to US Army and Air Force units deployed in Bosnia, Hungary and Croatia. Contract value $550 million over 18 months. Responsible for 9400 U.S. and foreign national employees providing multiple services for forty installations in a demanding and ever-changing environment.
1990-1995: Senior Vice President and Corporate Management Committee Member, Brown & Root. Created and for five years managed Brown & Root’s corporate office and responsibilities in Asia, sharing profit & loss responsibility with industry-oriented company organizations. Orchestrated companies in seven Asian countries and numerous joint venture relationships in completing projects for multiple Owners.
1988-1990: Commanding General, South Atlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Operating through six subordinate districts, directly responsible for a an annual civil works and military construction program in excess of $1 billion in the Southeastern U.S., Caribbean, Central/South America, Africa and the Middle East. Supported U.S. and foreign civilian and military customers to include hurricane disaster recovery (Hugo). Extensive relationships with senior local, state and federal officials within the U.S. and with the leadership of foreign countries. Warranted Contracting Officer.
1985-1988: Director of Management, U.S. Army. Responsible for orchestrating the functions and responsibilities of the non-troop-unit Army worldwide, to include management of the military portion of the Pentagon headquarters. Responsible for the integration and automation of Army management processes, for the Army’s Artificial Intelligence Program, for the contracting out of commercial activities, for installation management and for Army base closures and realignments.
1982-1985: Commanding General, Pacific Ocean Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Operating through three subordinate districts, directly responsible for an annual civil works and military construction program in excess of $1 billion primarily in Korea, Japan, Hawaii, Guam and Micronesia (Trust Territories of the Pacific Islands). Served all branches of the U.S. military as well as a number of civilian U.S. agencies. Warranted Contracting Officer.
